Stayed at Oak Chalet before and after a wonderful time trekking in the Himalaya foothills with my yoga teacher and our group, organised and led by the amazing Manoj and his team. Couldn't have asked for a better introduction to India and Mukteshwar. Oak Chalet overlooks a peaceful valley, where you can sit outside and listen to the sounds of nature, especially the Himalayan Great Barbet (my 'piano' bird - listen to its call!! ) Our accommodation was really comfortable and all the rooms had ensuite bathrooms. Nothing was too much trouble and we were so well looked after from morning to night, both at Oak Chalet and on the trek. The food was simply wonderful! Manoj is one of the most interesting, gentle, thoughtful and knowledgeable people I have had the pleasure to meet and is a generous and welcoming host. His team are a credit to him and they all have a special place with my memories of a stunningly beautiful part of the world.

Oak Chalet was easily the most impressive place I stayed during my month of travelling in India. The quality of the rooms and food were far beyond expectations. Everyone there was incredibly hospitable and worked hard to make our experience absolutely fantastic. I would highly recommend this place for anyone looking to spend time in a beautiful environment with some of the most amazing people you'll ever meet. You will not regret taking the time to get to know the area and people here. As soon as I left, I was already thinking of plans on how to get back here.

Staying at Oak Chalet was a privilege. Everyone is so friendly and everything was taken care of - the staff work very hard and yet make it look like nothing at the same time. The surrounding nature is absolutely stunning, waking up to the mountain view’s everyday was a dream. I cannot imagine a more special way to experience my first time in the Hills!

Oak Chalet is the most serene place I've ever been. It doesn't get better than waking up to the view of Mukteshwar with the crew's chai and delicious cooking. Staying here makes you feel more connected as a traveler, really soaking in the people, scenery, and slower pace of life. It's a special place with awesome people who really care about creating memories and sharing the Uttarakhand experience. I couldn't imagine staying anywhere else!

The Oak Chalet was incredible and I would 100% go again in a heartbeat! I stayed for a total of 7 nights, 3 before trekking and 4 after. Manoj is a great person, and other crew members are also amazing so I recommend getting to know them. The food is great too and if you have a chance, try to go cook something or make chai with the crew. They run everything in a sustainable way, from the building materials to the water and electricity so definitely learn about that while you're there. There is even wi-fi if you so choose to use it!
